Most people under 65 years of age should be enrolled with KiwiSaver. The benefits are significant when compared to any other retirement savings scheme available today. Bear in mind however that some of these benefits may not continue to be available as the cost to the tax payer is huge.
KiwiSavers over 18 years of age, not making regular contributions from salary or wages, should make a payment of up to $1042 into their KiwiSaver account by 30 June each year to receive the Government's tax credit, equivalent to 50 cents in every dollar up to a maximum of $521
Did you also know, a baby born today can be enrolled as soon as they have been allocated an IRD number? An enrolment form only needs to be completed.
